This training is to learn how you can create real meaningful change in your community using an assemblies model to build momentum for your Election or Mutual Aid Campaign.
We take you step-by-step through how to build a winning Independent Election Campaign.
And we discover different types of Gandhian Mutual Aid Campaigns - bypassing bureaucracy whilst embarrassing the state.
This training walks through our proven canvassing protocol, shows you how to invite neighbours to take part in Assemblies and lets you practice conversations in breakout groups. You’ll come away knowing how to reach beyond the ‘usual suspects’, recruit and sustain volunteers and spark the kind of local energy that grows into real change.

Join the first call in our new international organizing series. This call is open to everyone — no prior experience needed.
In one hour, you'll get a short introduction to the international project we're building — locally rooted organizations with clear strategic purpose — followed by a practical, immediately useful training on facilitating assemblies: a concrete skill you can put to work in your own community right away.
You'll also hear how we're building international infrastructure to help people create local projects that solve real problems — from climate disaster preparation to organized collective action.

From Crisis to Organized Power: What We're Building This second call goes deeper. If the first conversation sparked something, this is where we get serious about strategy.
Over the first 30 minutes, we'll present the full picture: the scale of the climate and social crisis ahead, why current movement strategies have reached their limits, and the long-term strategy for building organizations rooted in material life — housing, food, energy, health — that win real power for people and can ultimately organize mass non-cooperation.
We'll cover the role of local organizations, the proposed international architecture, and what it concretely means to take responsibility as an organizer.
Then it's your turn: questions, challenges, and structured feedback.
By the end, you'll be able to decide whether you want to explore building a new organization where you live — or moving an existing one toward this strategy.
Note: This call builds on the 20 September Community Call — it's designed for those who joined the first conversation. The call is 90min in total.
Upcoming events & trainings
What do Mamdani’s election in New York, the victory of the eco-socialist party in Copenhagen this year, and a network of Black-led community cooperatives helping to elect their own mayor in Jackson, Mississippi, in the United States, have in common?
All of these examples are rooted in bottom-up community mobilisation: people coming together, organising locally, and making collective decisions through assemblies and direct democracy.
Across our network, we are also beginning to develop experiments in this direction.
One of the main examples we will discuss is Shake It Up in Brixton, London. We will hear how a group of activists, by mobilising people around a local election, managed to build a much more ethnically and culturally diverse group, which is now launching neighbourhood campaigns in Brixton and could become an important model for others.
We will focus mainly on this case, but we will also touch on other examples from the UK, Australia , Denmark and Germany.
We are in the process of building a new international network of associations, organisations and climate movements that want to move beyond purely performative activism and build mass popular bases.
In this meeting, we will discuss how to build neighbourhood-based mobilisation. We believe that the next necessary step for the climate movement is to move quickly beyond activist bubbles and focus, with humility, on working-class neighbourhoods and bottom-up organising.
